GENERAL INFORMATION
(Applicable to both Thermal and Acoustic installations)
TINTING (OR PAINTING) TC-417 GP INSTALLATIONS:
We supply colour additives for our adhesive to produce dark grey or light grey finishes. If other colours are desired, the finished installation must be painted with the required colour.
NOTE:

a) Glass fibre is an impervious, dense, and smooth material that will neither absorb colour nor readily allow it to bond to its surface;

b) Therefore, all colour, other than the natural white of the fibre, must be in the adhesive which bonds the fibre together, or must be applied as a paint to the finished installation;

c) This means that, because the adhesive is never 100% evenly distributed over the fibre, and because it forms such a small percentage of the final mix, it is not possible to get a perfectly even finish colour;

d) The very best of installations will show a lightly mottled finish with lighter patches where the colour of the fibre tends to show through;

e) In addition, the textured finish surface of the installation will cause shadows across it, which will change as the light intensity and direction change, thus adding to the perception that the surface is unevenly coloured.
